A study on the influence of stress concentration in DFZ on the growth of model I crack
A dislocation-free zone (DFZ) near the tip of model I crack can be formed after dislocation emission. There is a second stress peak in the DFZ near plastic zone (PZ) besides a stress peak at the crack tip.In the paper, using a super-dislocation mode, the complex functions of stress and displacement fields in front of crack were derived, and based on MATLAB simulating, the relation between stress concentration in DFZ and the angle of inclined plane,as well as how the stress concentration in the DFZ was affected by the applied stress factor and the friction stress, were studied. The results show that peak stress in DFZ will change with the applied stress factor increasing and the friction stress decreasing, but the position of nucleation where the most serious concentration happens do not change, and the direction of crack growth do not change at all.
