The interaction between edge dislocations and an elliptical blunted crack

摘要：

In this paper,the interaction model between edge dislocations and an elliptical blunted crack has been presented based on image forces.The image forces acting on the dislocations were analyzed analytically and numerically.The results show that it is easier to emit dislocations for longer elliptical cracks than shorter ones.The climb component of the image force is proven much smaller and less important than the slip component.The study also indicates that the dislocation emission significantly depends on the curvature radius of the blunted crack.
