Effect of orientation on low cyclic fatigue of a directionally solidified superalloy at elevated temperature
Low cycle fatigue behaviors of a directionally solidified superalloy DZ125 with different orientations was investigated at high temperatures of 760℃ and 980 ℃.It is found that test temperature has different influences on low cycle fatigue life of the alloy with different orientations. The fatigue strength at 760℃ is much greater than that at 980℃ for 0° specimens, while the specimens at 980℃ can withstand more cycles compared to 760℃.There are at least two competing mechanism contributing to the fatigue resistance with respect to the different orientation. These mechanisms are comparable in the middle of the deviation angle range near 45°.
