The influence of ultrasonic and electric spark combining surface treatment for Ti17 alloy on fatigue performances
The wear resistance and hardness of Til 7 alloy were improved by electric spark treatment (EST),while the fatigue life decreased.The surface strengthened by EST,then ultrasonic surface treatment is applied in order to increase fatigue life.The surface morphology was observed by SEM,surface residual stress was analyzed by XRD,tension-tension fatigue test was carried out in the HT-100 fatigue testing machine at 350℃.The results show that surface roughness and residual stress reduce after ultrasonic surface treatment,and fatigue life is about twice the life by only EST,the maximum fatigue life is the specimen with the combining treatment of YG8 electrode EST and ultrasonic treatment.
