Reliability fatigue life assessment of welded bogie frame of railway vehicle
The reliability total life of bogie frame consists of crack initiation life and crack propagation life.In phase of the design,the operation requirement was satisfied by crack initiation life.However,when bogie frame was welded together,its quality could not be guaranteed based on fitness for purpose principal.The reasonable maintenance cycle was ascertained through fracture mechanics.It was key factor to ensure the safety of vehicle operation.In this paper,the rigid-flexible coupled system dynamic model for railway vehicle with flexible bogie frame was built.The load time history of each bearing locations was obtained through dynamics simulation.The stochastic stress history of bogie frame was transformed between load history by transient finite element analysis and transmission equation.Then the crack initiation life and the crack propagation life of bogie frame were computed using Miner damage theory and Paris equation respectively.The results show that the reliability fatigue life of bogie frame can satisfy the operation requirement through crack initiation analysis and the reasonable maintenance cycle is five years through crack propagation evaluation.The method applied in this paper provided a new way to evaluate reliability of the load bearing structure of high speed train.
