A study on morphology and detection of inclusion in Al-12Si casting alloy
In this experiment,Al-12Si alloy with its oxide skin chip was used as raw material.The observation of the inclusions in solidification structure was carried out by using Leica metallurgical microscope.Based on the above image observation the morphology of inclusions was qualitative discussed in detail by means of schematic diagrams;Using Leica Automatic Image Analyzer (LAIA),the quantitative determination of inclusion content was carried out by setting the threshold value,and then the result from multi-field was averaged.The results showed that the inclusions appear complex features,such as plate-block like,lamellar,cluster like,and defect-accompanied;the accurate statistic results of inclusion content from different heats were finally obtained,the No.1 heat is 7.6%,and the other is 2.8%.
