Feasibility study on fast-switching liquid-crystal display using field-induced nematic orientational order
Fast switching characteristics less than 1 msec. were confirmed to be obtained by using the field-induced nematic order in a liquid crystal (LC) cell with an appropriate substrate-surface treatment. Temperature dependence of the electro-optic effects and the influence of the surface treatment as well were experimentally examined and theoretically explained.
