Ezperimental Study of Ezoemission from Ozide Protective Layers in PDPs
Exoelectron emission from MgO film was measured by using a new method with two 4-inch panels to counteract the displacement current and attaching a suitable resistance to the address electrode of the rear plate of AC PDP panel. We called the new method as two-panel method. The measured results indicate that exoelectron current from MgO layer under different bias voltage is a gas amplification process. With two-panel method, the decay behaviours of PDP panels were obtained. The results also show that the dielectric layer and phosphor layer increase the decay speed of the exoelectron.
