An Interlaced Gate Driver In Array (GIA) Embedded TFT-LCD
A novel Gate driver In Array (GIA) driving architecture with interlaced data scrambling has been successfully proposed into the TFT-LCD. The dot inversion driving scheme implemented with lower power column inversion driver ICs as well as traditional TFT array layout had been demonstrated on 14.1 inch WXGA AMLCD. The increased power consumption in GIA embedded TFT- LCD was the major drawback of this new technology. In this paper, the significant power saving was achieved by this new proposed interlaced GIA technology. In addition, the repair circuits for GIA were designed to provide a higher process yield.
