ANALYSIS OF COPPER ION CHANNEL PROTEIN IN BACILLUS SUBTILIS FROM BIOINFORMATICS

Sequences analysis of the copper ion channel proteins in Bacillus subtilis from bioinformatics was performed to find the theory base for reconstructing the gene engineering strains that could adapt the treatments of wastewater containing copper. GenBank databases, Blast (Basic Local Alignment Search Tool) with completed coding sequence of 24 Bacilli bacteria databases were used to predict the functions of hypothesis proteins. The results showed that 11 hypothesis proteins were at least 25% consistency in the length range of 80 amino acids, it suggested that these hypothesis proteins relative to the copper ion channel proteins. 11 proteins might be transmembrane proteins from the analysis of software DNAMAN in these possible proteins and those with known functions of copper transport, it indicated that the 11 proteins must be transmembrane proteins.
