SI-NW ARRAYS DECORATED WITH GOLD NANOPARTICLES FOR SURFACE-ENHANCED RAMAN SCATTERING

The silicon nanowire arrays and their composite with gold nanoparticles have been fabricated via wet etching method. FESEM and EDAX images elucidated that gold nanoparticles had been attached on the silicon nanowires. This hybrid nanowire arrays were further applied to obtain the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra of rhodamine 6G (R6G). The absolute enhancement factor (EF) has also been approximately calculated as 1. 54× 104. It indicated that the silicon nanowires decorated with gold nanoparticles could be used as effective SERS substrate to detect biologic molecules such as adenine molecule, thrombin and BSA.

Ilicon nanowire arrays gold nanoparticles surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) rhodamine 6G (R6G).
