DESIGN AND APPLICATION OF THE SOFTWARE FOR COUNTING COLOR-BEADS RANDOMLY DISTRIBUTED ON THE CHIP
The appearance of gene chips and many other new technologies is reshaping the biology research and gene chips have been widely applied in molecular diagnosis. Some gene chips use micro-beads which include various micro-particles. Normally these chips immobilize micro-beads irregularly for the sake of cost and convenience. How to analyze subsequent images and get useful information from them has become an essential prerequisite for quantitative analysis. We designed software to analyze images of this kind of gene chips and counting the number of signal points. The software is applied in analyzing images by scanning the gel-chips immobilized with the mixed beads hybridized with fluorescent probes labeled by Cy3 and Cy5. Contrasts of results respectively coming from the software and manual work were did, which could prove the results were satisfying.
