CLONING AND EXPRESSION OF RIBOSOMAL PROTEIN S6 GENE IN INNER MONGOLIA CASHMERE GOAT
Ribosomal protein (rp) S6 is a major substrate of protein kinases in eukaryotic ribosomes. To better understand the role of S6 in the regulation of cell growth, we cloned S6 cDNA from Inner Mongolia Cashmere goat fetal fibroblasts. The S6 cDNA is 808 bp in length, including an ORF of 750 bp corresponding to a polypeptide of 249 amino acids, and 58 residues of the 3 noncoding sequence exclusive of the poly(A) tract with a polyadenylation signal in nucleotide 769 ~ 774. This S6 gene shares high identity with bovine S6 and was expressed in spleen, testicle and muscle in Inner Mongolia Cashmere goat.
