FLUORESCENT DETERMINATION OF PYROPHOSPHATE WITH A CONJUGATED COMPOUND
The fluorescence intensity of conjugated compound, tri -9,9 - bis(3 - diethoxyl phosphorylpropyl) fluorene (TDPF) can be strongly quenched by Fe3+. Addition of pyrophosphate (PPi) into TDPF-Fe3+ system induces efficient recovery of the TDPF fluorescence intensity due to the complexation between PPi and Fe3+. Based on this phenomenon, the PPi can be conveniently and sensitively detected in the concentration range of 0. 5 - 10 μM with high selectivity. The proposed method for PPi detection offers the potential for detecting sequence-specific nucleic acid and studying biological processes.
