OVEREXPRESSION OF HEPATIC NF-KB AND ITS CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS IN HBV-RELATED HEPOTOCELLUIAR CARCINOMA
Objective: To investigate the NF-κB expression in HBV-related HCC and evaluate its clinical implications. Methods NF-κB expression was detected in HCC and their corresponding tissues. Hepatic HBV-DNA was detected by in situ molecular hybridization. Total RNA were abstracted and NF-κBmRNA were amplified by real-time-PCR. The relationship was analyzed between NF-κB and HBV. Results Positive NF-κB was brown granule-like and localized in nucleus and cytoplasm in HCC with stronger expression, and only in cytoplasm in its surrounding tissues. Its incidence was 100% in HCC, and 68. 6% in their surrounding tissues. Significant difference was found between the two groups. None of the other variables positive relationship presented between NF-κB and differentiation grade, number or size of tumor or AFP. NF-κB in HBV-DNA-positive HCC was significantly higher than that in HBV-DNA-negative ones. Conclusion NF-κB was closely associated with the HBV-related HCC and could be a marker for development of HCC.
