PROTEOMIC ANALYSIS OF RAT MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION MODEL
To identify the changes of cardiac protein expression during myocardial infarction occur, the animal model of myocardial infarction was established by surgical ligation of the left coronary artery in rats. Protein profiles of normal and infarcted tissues were investigated by 2DE: over 850 60 protein spots were detected in the silver-stained gels. The results showed that the expressions of 19 protein spots were increased and 13 protein spots were decreased in the diseased tissues when compared with normal tissues (n=5). 16 altered protein spots were subjected to mass spectrometry analysis, and 11 proteins were subsequently identified with peptide mass fingerprinting (PMF) based on matrix-associated laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) and database searching. These identified proteins were Hsp27 (2 isoforms),
