Research on Configurable Service-oriented Networked Numerical Control System
To survive in rapidly changing business environment, the idea of developing CNC systems by putting NC modules together for low-cost and short time to market has been a goal for a long time. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is being accepted as an information technology standard to support efficient system integration. A configurable service-oriented networked numerical control system (Configurable-SoNNC) is presented that provides a way for rapid customization and development of a new CNC system in this paper. The paper describes the existing problem of the current numerical control system and brings forth the conception and the architecture of configurable-SoNNC. The NC services and customer requirements are described in machine-understandable form to support the automatic and flexible discovery based on the semantic information is illustrated. Then a CNC system can be composed from a number of NC services delivered by different vendors in different places by using the key techniques such as discovery, matching and configuration of NC service in accordance with customers demand. Configurable SoNNC has the advantages of effective resource utilization, response to market changes and customer demands quickly, flexibility ,openness, and etc.
