Studies on the Anti Side Squeeze Properties of the Dual-layer Submarine Cable by LS-DYNA

The analysis of anti side squeeze properties of submarine optical fiber cable concerns with high nonlinear problems like contact, large deformation, material nonlinearity, etc. It is not possible to solve this problems using a analytic method. A way to analyze the anti side squeeze properties of submarine cable using the combination of ANSYS + LS-DYNA + LS-PREPOST was given, in which the parametric modeling method of ANSYS by APDL was used. Simulations were done and the results were disscussed. Good accordance was found between the simulation and the experiment results. The paper provides a meaningful reference to similar problems.
