Research on Modeling Method of Meridian Tire Tread Patterns Based-on Point Mapping

摘要：

The vehicle capability and traffic safety are heavily affected by the tire tread pattern. Since 2D drawings are employed to design sketch patterns, how to model 3D tire tread patterns become essential for automatic modelling of tire moulds. This paper puts forward a new modelling method of 3D meridian tire tread patterns based-on point mapping with the principle and algorithm provided. Furthermore, the feasibility of the proposed method is demonstrated by practical examples.
