GEOTECHNICAL SITE CHARACTERIZATION OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE LANDFILL IN UZBEKISTAN
In geotechnical engineering the techniques of site investigation for soils are well established and little is known for the characterisation of municipal solid waste landfills. This paper presents the findings of geotechnical investigations for characterization of landfills situated in vicinity of large cities of seismically active regions of Central Asia. The site investigations using boreholes and geotechnical laboratory tests have been conducted on the landfill site Ahangaranskaya situated at Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan.
