DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPUTER SOFTWARE FOR PREDICTING LANDFILL SETTLEMENT AND ITS STORAGE CAPACITY

Settlement is one of the most obvious phenomenon of MSW Landfills. The prediction of settlement is very important for landfill operation, management and post-closure reclamation. This paper gives a brief introduction to the development of a computer software for predicting landfill settlement and capacity throughout the landfill life. The overall structure and main features of the computer software are presented. An illustrative analysis is used to demonstrate the functions of the software.
