SALT PRODUCTION IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS AND UNITED STATES TARIFF POLICY

The Turks and Caicos Islands, Figure 1, have been the site of numerous battles because they straddle the Turks Island Passage which allows passage to the inner portions of the Caribbean. The Turks Islands include Grand Turk and SaltKey along with a number of smaller islands, while in the Caicos chain are: South, East, Grand and North Caicos, then Providenciales and West Caicos.
