Small intrusion making large ore: Significance for the ezploration of Jinchuan Ni-Cu sulfide deposit

1 IntroductionThe first magmatic sulfide deposit in the world, Sudbury Ni-Cu sulfide deposits, was discovered in the large layered SIC (Sudbury Igneous Complex) and explored in 1880s. which making a profound significance for the later exploration of the this kind of ore in terms of its occurrence and most of exploration geologists then believed that only a large rock-body with gentle occurrence, like a large laccoliths, could be favor of forming a magmatic sulfide deposit(V.M.Goldshimit,1954 1959). Until recently, however, Lightfoot et al. (2001) proposed that forming of the Sudbury deposits are closely associated with the impact of asteroid and even; this is the exclusive example in globe.
