Mineralized magmatism of Kalatongke Cu-Ni sulfide deposit in Xinjiang, west China

1 IntroductionThe Kalatongke Cu-Ni sulfide deposit in northern Xinjiang, west China is located in the East Junggar terrane. About 11 mafic-ultramafic complexes related to ore-forming in the Kalatongke region were distributed as two corridors along the southern side of the regional Irtysh fault zone, and intruded into slate and tuff of the Lower Carboniferous Nanmingshui Formation. The intrusions #1, 2, and 3 host economic Ni-Cu sulfide ores, and are well differentiated and compositionally zoned with the sulfide Re-Os isochron ages of 282.5±4.8 and 290.2±6.9Ma (Zhang et al., 2005), and 305±15Ma (Han et al., 2007).
