The origin and evolution of Wengeqi mafic-ultramafic complez and PGE, Cu mineralization, Guyang county, Inner Mogolia
1 IntroductionWengeqi complex (WGQC), locate at the northern margin of North China craton, is a mafic-ultramafic complex. The complex extends 3.5 km in length and 1.5 km in width. The mainly rock types are pyroxenite, amphible diopsidite and amphibolite. The Zircon SHRIMP age of pyroxenite is 399±4Ma.2 PyroxenitePyroxenite bearing Pt-Pd minerals occurs as a dike. The dike is 5 meters in width, it extends about 1500 meters. Sulfides distributed mainly along the boundary of pyroxenes (Fig. 1). The metallic mineral assemblages include chalcopyrite, pyrite, and magnetite. Epidotite, sphene, apatite, and chlorite are normal in pyroxenite. Sphene occurs along the boundary of magnetite and pyroxene. Platinum Group Elements minerals in WGQC include sperrylite, sudburite and kotuskite. Sperrylite is the only PGM bearing Pt. They are typically associated with magnetite (Figs.1 and 2). PGM bearing Pd include sudburite and kotuskite, they mainly occur along the boundary of pyrite (Figs. 3 and 4).
