Development of a LabVIEW-Based ECT System and Its Application for Gas-Solid Flows
This paper describes a development of a two-plane electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) system based on virtual instrument (VI) technique. Structure for the implementation of the proposed VI system is outlined, and the limitations and perceived advantages of the system are discussed. A program in LabVIEW language has been developed for the system control, data acquisition and processing of the collected ECT data from a test rig, with the final goal of showing the flow image, the frame history and display of the mass flow related to the movement of plastic pellets. Matlab based imaging algorithms also have been incorporated in LabVIEW software by using COM technique. Finally, experiments related to the application of the system for the parameters measurement of gas-solid flow are presented.
