Study on Fining Process of Kaolin for the Preparation of Mullite Nanocomposite

Both yellow sodium iron alum and oxidation-reduction techniques are used to refine kaolin. After, its whiteness increases from 72.3 % to 87.9 %, which could stabilize the Si/Al molar ratio in the process of preparing mullite nanocomposite, and reduce the impact of impurity on the mullite nucleation. Also, it is helpful for the increasing of conversion rate of mullite nanocomposite.
