Research on Precipitation and Decomposition Process of Activated Zinc Ozide
The effects of carbon dioxide on precipitation of zinc carbonate and thermal decomposition conditions on particle size and activity of zinc oxide were studied, using refined zinc lixiviating solution evaporated ammonia as raw material, hypo-quality zinc solution was lixiviated by using ammonium sulfate-ammonia. The high pressure of carbon dioxide is favorable to shorten the time of zinc precipitating, reduce the particle size of zinc carbonate, increase the packing density of zinc carbonate, and decompose zinc carbonate into zinc oxide. Additionally, at low decomposition temperature, the samples with higher specific surface area and higher activity were obtained. The optimum of decomposition temperature of zinc carbonate precipitation under high pressure of carbon dioxide is 300 ~ 320℃ , the time of decomposition is 4 ~ 5h, and conducting oil could be used as a heat source of zinc carbonate decomposition in industry.
