Synthesis and Characterization of YAG:Ce Phosphor Particles by Polyacrylamide Gel Method
Ce3+-activated YAG phosphor particles were prepared by the polyarylamide gel method. Effects of calcining temperature and holding time on particle morphology as well as luminescent properties of YAG : Ce3+ phosphor powder were studied by thermogravimertry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD), and fluorescence spectrophotometry. The results show that the crystallization becomes better, and the intensity of emission of YAG: Ce3+ phosphor increases with calcining temperature increasing and holding time prolonging under certain conditions. The concentration of Ce3+ basically has no effects on the spectral position, but changes the spectral intensity. When x was equal to 0.06 for Y3-x CexAl5O12, the best purified YAG crystalline phase is obtained at 1100℃ .
