The Application of Surface Modification in Controlling Aggregation of Nano-Powder Particles

Nano-powder materials exhibit some novel properties and hence, are aroused general concern. The preparation technology is more important in preparation nano-powder materials. Aiming at incident aggregation phenomenon of nano-powder particles, surface modification technology is an effective method in controlling aggregation of nano-powder particles. In the paper, the fundamentals and applied ranges of some surface modification technology are introduced, including thermal decomposition-reduction method, chemical plating, homogeneous precipitation method, sol-gel method, surface-active agent method, mcroemulsing method, coupling agent method, esterifying reaction method and surface bound-branch method. These surface modification methods in controlling aggregation and ensuring properties of nano-powder particles have some advantages.
