Investigation of Solid Flow Measurement by Microwave Doppler Radar
In this paper, the ability of microwave Doppler radar as solids flow rate and affecting factors are examined by experiments. The power spectrum is estimated by the FFT of autocorrelation of sampled sensor signals. The experiment results show that the signal of Doppler radar can give not only the velocity of flowing solids, but also the flow rate by reflected power. The flow pattern affects the measurement result obviously. The environment electro-magnetic noises distort the radar signal and need to be eliminated by filter. The radar signal is sensitive to particle size.
