Soft Sensor Model for Mass Flowrate Measurement of Pneumatically Conveyed Solids Using Elbow-Ultrasonic

It is very difficult for the elbow method to accurately measure the particles mass flowrate of pneumatic conveying system. A soft sensor model for the particles mass concentration measurement using the elbow-ultrasonic method is developed. The elbow-ultrasonic method is based on the elbow flowrate measurement method and the Ultrasonic velocity method. The experiment system is built. A nonlinear soft sensor model is established using the BP neural network. The training data samples are the 15 groups of the experiment data and. the soft sensor model is gotten. The other 15 groups of data are used to calibration. The calibration result is indicated that the average error of model is less than 15% . The experiment results prove the validity and reliability of the model. The soft sensor model lowers the calculation complexity and provides an effective solution to online mass flow rate measurement.
