Study on Cleanliness of gas cylinder steel during Vacuum Degassing
The Cleanliness of gas cylinder steel (30CrMo) was studied during vacuum degassing by interrupting vacuum after the start of operation. Steel samples were collected to analyze with respect to steel composition, total oxygen content, number and account of inclusions in the molten steel. The results showed the content of total oxygen increases firstly and decreases latter, and the total oxygen content seems to reach a minimum value after around 12 min of vacuum degassing. The vacuum degassing effectively reduces the number of inclusions in steel, but increases the amount of macro-inclusions.
