Investigation of the Radial Clearance Leakage in Rolling Piston Compressors Based on CFD
Based on computational fluid dynamics and dynamics mesh method, the transient leakage of refrigerant gas in radial clearance is simulated and analyzed. The results show that the transient leakage in radial clearance increases as the compression chamber pressure lifting. When under air-conditioned compressors operating mode and the radial clearance is less than 14μm, the gas in radial clearance flows with a subsonic speed. The transient leakage is determined by both gap sectional area and the distribution of pressure and velocity between the gap. During the compressor exhaust phase, the transient leakage in radial clearance is large, so the minimum value of radial clearance should be tuned around the place where crank shaft rotate to 278°. The model designed in this article is based on simplex gas streaming and in this way it is more convenient to analyze machine such as Roofs vacuum pump and vortex vacuum pump etc.
