An Empirical Study of Coordinated Urban and Rural Development in Central China
Regional development in China has experienced a period of widening gaps among the regions in the east, west, northwest and central China s ince the countrys opening up and reform. The same trend is seen in the coordinated urban and rural development in China. The ability to coordinate urban and rural areas ma inly covers the coordination of economy, society and peoples liv ing standard. This article offers an evaluation system, and conducts an empirical s tudy of coordinated development in Central China, namely Shanxi, Jiangxi, Anhui, Henan, Hunan, and Hubei province by employing principal component analysis.
