Comparative Study on Decentralized and Centralized Management of Spare Parts Inventory

摘要：

Building the decentralized and centralized management models of spare parts under the control of the risk out of stock, this paper makes a comparison of safety inventory quantity and inventory cost between the two models. The findings of the study, which are verified by numerical examples in this paper, indicate that, with the same probability of stock shortage, the centralized management model can reduce inventory holdings of enterprises so as to lower down their inventory cost and reduce capital occupation.
