Does Organizational Culture Influence Technological Innovation with Organizational Commitment as An Intermediary?
Organizat ional culture plays an important role in technological innovation. The culture of effective organizat ion has four components, namely involvement, consistency, adaptability and mission. This paper applies the structural equation model to examine the link between the four components of organizational culture and organizational commitment and technological innovation for firms operating in China. The results are as follows: (1) the involvement component of organizational culture had a significant and positive effect on organizational commitment, and indirect ly influenced technological innovation with organizational commitment as an partial intermediary; (2) the consistency component of organizational culture had a significant and positive effect on organizational commitment, and indirectly had a significant and positive effect on technological innovation with organizational commitment as a complete intermediary; (3) the adaptability component of organizational culture had a significant and positive effect on organizational commitment, and indirect ly influenced technological innovation with organizational commitment as an partial intermediary; (4) the mission component of organizational culture directly had a positive but not significant effect on organizational commitment, and indirectly did not influence technological innovation with organizat ional commitment as an intermediary.
