Legal Solution to Online Behavioral Targeting Advertising

Behavioral targeting(BT) technology, is an advert ising method arising from the development of online advertising technology. In China, CCmedia started to provide behavioral targeting service in 2008 and pushed online advertising into a new era. The impacts of behavioral targeting will certainly affect Chinese netizens in the near future; thus, striking the balance between the suspicion of e -privacy infringement and potential of daily convenience seems to be the top priority task for Ch inas presiding authorities. By observing this new technique, this article presents some legal concerns of behavioral targeting technique as well as the controversy between business agility and privacy protection. The existing law system in China remains scant of e-privacy, but doesnt reduce the importance of the issue. Legal problems shall never be ignored when it co mes to management. Th is artic le suggests that Chinas presiding authorities shall initiate the legislative procedure to regulate online business and to accomplish her own legal system as possible as they can.
