Study on the Knowledge-based Parts Library Management System
Adopting information technology and modular design methods , this paper focuses on these problems in the process of using CAD systems under networked manufacturing environment in manufacturing enterprises, such as repeating design of parts, low reusing parts, low sharing resources of parts library, and informat ion asymmetry. The design ideas are proposed, which are based on PLIB standards, STEP neutral files, knowledge base of design standards and design specifications. The knowledge-based parts library management system is developed, which comes to meet the requirements of centralized management of part information, introduces the knowledge base into parts library to improve the level of standardization, and meets the needs of sharing and reusing resources of parts library for enterprises under networked manufacturing environment. Besides, the system has laid a solid foundation for multi-collaboration.
