MECHANISMS OF MICROSEISMIC EVENTS OCCURRED IN A DEEP HARD-ROCK MINE OF CHINA
The eighth orebody is being mined in the Huize Lead & Zinc mine, which is a deep mine in Yunnan chihong Zn & Ge Co. LTD. in China. In situ rock stresses were tested in different levels, the results indicated that the rock mass was in a state of high compressive stress. The basic problems such as high in-situ rock stress, fault structure, plentiful groundwater, etc. were concluded in the eight orebody. The microseismic events were generally induced because of the stress changes, excavation and geologic discontinuities in the deep hard-rock mine. By analyzing these reasons, the microseismic events occurred in brittle rock masses and geologic discontinuities, and the mechanisms of microseismic events occurrence were deduced. In the deep mine, the digital microseismic monitoring system was established in eighth orebody. the microseismic activity was recorded during the deep hard-rock mining, which made it possible to locate high stress concentration zones. Providing important implications for rockburst forecast based on the ongoing microseismic activity.
