The Micro Fracture Strength of Rod-Shaped Eutectic
The micromechanical fracture strength of the rod-shaped eutectic in composite ceramic is the pivotal factor to decide the properties of composite ceramic. But the micro fracture strength of the rod-shaped eutectic can not be achieved by experiment; it should be calculated according to micromechanical theory. Because there is not inherent defect in rod-shaped eutectic, according to local stress field in the rod-shaped eutectic, we apply the dislocation pile-up theory to research the dislocation motion in nano fiber and ascertain the maximum tensile stress creating in the matrix by calculating stress raiser, that is created by the dislocation pile-up in two-phase interface, then the fracture strength formation of eutectic ceramics rod was gotten, when the maximum tensile stress in the matrix is equal to the theoretic fracture strength. Result indicates that the fracture strength of eutectic rods has obvious size dependence.
