The Anti-Reflection Crack Test and Evaluation of Crack Alleviating Mizture (CAM)
In order to alleviate the cracks generation and propagation problems that arise easily on the semi-rigid base course asphalt pavement and the asphalt overlay on the existing cement pavement, the anti-reflection crack property of the designed crack alleviating mixture(CAM) is most important. A new anti-reflection crack test method is put forward in this paper. Anti-reflection crack instrument manufacture and trial process are introduced. Trial data is analyzed. These anti-reflection crack performance testing results are contrasted with that of Chinese standard gradation AC-13F. Anti-reflection crack test results show: final cracking times of CAM is 1.49 times that of AC-13 when they are the same test condition, the samples with each OAC, and 2.5mm slide distance. Therefore, anti-reflection crack capability of CAM is better than AC-13F. The CAM asphalt mixture can be applied to the semi-rigid base course asphalt pavement and the existing cement concrete pavement as binding course or the surface layer and obviously delay the asphalt pavement cracking compared to Chinese standards AC-13F asphalt mixture, thereby extend asphalt pavement life.
