Study on Spatial Distribution Rules for the Fragment Beam of Preformed Fragmentation Ammunition

The preformed fragment warhead usually uses the preforming fragments to the cavity of the shell, or the liner outside of the charging. When the explosive charges are blasted, the fragments are driven to the targets with high speed, and finally damage the targets. In this paper, a spatial motion model for the fragments of the preformed fragment warhead was founded. With the graphics technology of MATLAB, the spatial motion rules for a certain columned preformed fragment warhead were calculated and analyzed. The results can provide some helpful references for the damage assessment and overall system optimization of that type warhead.
