Fault Simulation and Knowledge Acquisition Based on Virtual Prototyping
Virtual prototyping for a type of large-caliber gun is firstly established to simulate the typical faults in all kinds of firing conditions to obtain the internal laws about construction and function in recoiling and counter-recoiling processes. The basic steps of virtual prototyping development in ADAMS and Solidworks are illustrated. The force analysis and simulation of firing process show the main influencing factors to firing performance We select one typical fault—too much recoiling length as research object. The effects of abrasion of throttling ring in recoil brake to maximum recoiling resistance Rmax and maximum recoiling length Xmax is simulated by virtual prototyping. The extreme threshold of abrasion of throttling ring in recoil brake can be obtained from the simulation results. Therefore, the deep-seated knowledge about structure and function can be transmitted into shallow rules for fault diagnosis and forecast.
