Lateral Bearing Capacity Measurement of Piles in Saturated Degradation Sands
Based on the principle of effective stress, this paper puts forward a test method to measure the lateral bearing capacity of piles in the saturated degraded sands. By means of applying the back pressure, saturated sands with the excess pore water pressure resulted from seismic loads are simulated. Results of pile-soil interaction model tests with different relative densities and different excess pore water pressure ratios show that the residual pore water pressure of degraded saturated strata can be maintained in the process of tests. And degraded discipline of the saturated stratum with different relative densities is determined. It is important for further discussion and design.
