Vanadium Carbide Coating and Remained Salt Test on Cr12 Substrate in Boraz Salt Bath

In the paper, the thickness of the vanadium-carbide layer was tested by SEM and Energy Spectrum. The remained salt composition was tested by XRD. The Analysis of the relation between the thickness of the vanadium-carbide layer on Cr12 substrate steel and immersion time, salt bath temperature was conducted. Compared with the experimental results, a method was advised to solve the aging problem which is adding continuously B4C to the salt bath.
