Simulation Analysis of Pole Impact of Battery Boz in an Electric Bus
Battery packs are one of important energy resources in electric vehicles now. Battery box compromises battery packs and prevents from damage in traffic accidents. Mesh generation of the battery box is performed with HYPERMESH. By means of FEA software PAM-CRASH, deformation, internal energy distribution and stress distribution are analyzed for three dimensions of battery boxes when pole impacts happen. By comparisons, it is concluded that the improved battery box can withstand greater impact and have better crashworthiness. The analytical method can provide helpful reference to design and development of battery boxes.
