Research on the Principle of LFMCW Range Radar

Radar measurement owing to its non contacting measurement is more suitable for the hard measuring conditions. In this paper, the operating principle of FM ranging, phase ranging and combine FM and phase ranging are analyzed. Among them, the combine FM and phase ranging uses the system of LFMCW. The frequency and phase are adopted estimate the range. And its precision in measurement is higher. Finally, the design concept and the system parameters of LFMCW are given. The result of theory analysis shows that the way is simple and viable in range measurement and has use value.
