A Fast Adaptive GOP Structure Based on Motion Information

摘要：

A new method to accomplish Adaptive GOP Structure (AGS) in scalable video coding (SVC) system based on Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering (MCTF) is proposed. In our SVC system, the transition probability of motion activities obtained during the first three times full search motion estimation is chosen to decide next GOP size is 16 or 8. Experiment results shows that SVC system with the proposed method performs well in both encoding/decoding speed and PSNR.
