Face Detection Based Registration Algorithm for Video-Based Augmented Reality
In this paper, we introduced an algorithm for identifying and positioning the face using the image of the captured real-time video. A video-based augmented reality (AR) system in which the face is replaced with the 3D virtual object is implemented. Our method combines the information of skin color with the information of faces geometry. In the YCbCr color space, the method computes the skin color membership of every pixel in the image. Then it fits the face using the information of faces geometry with rectangle. AR marker-free registration is achieved by 3D face tracking. Experiment results indicate that proposed algorithm is effective.
